Frequently Asked Questions

Concrete pouring is the process of placing wet concrete into a form or designated area to create a hardened structure. It’s a fundamental step in construction, used for a vast array of applications from small DIY projects to large-scale infrastructure.

Once the concrete is poured and roughly leveled, various finishing techniques are applied depending on the desired surface.

While concrete hardens within 24-48 hours, full curing is a gradual process:

  • Walkable in: 24 hours
  • Light use in: 3-7 days
  • Full strength in: 28 days

We schedule all projects to allow proper curing time and will provide specific care instructions based on your project type and weather conditions. For most residential work (like driveways or patios), we recommend avoiding heavy vehicles or furniture for at least 7 days.

Remember: Proper curing is what gives concrete its lasting durability – we handle the timing so you get the best results.

The ideal time for pouring concrete is during mild weather conditions, typically:

  • Spring/Fall: Moderate temperatures (50-75°F) are perfect as they allow proper curing without extreme heat or cold stress
  • Early morning: In warmer months, starting at dawn helps avoid midday heat
  • Dry weather: Avoid pouring during rain or high humidity that could weaken the mix

We monitor weather forecasts closely and may adjust schedules to ensure optimal results. For specialized advice about your project’s timing, we’re happy to provide recommendations based on your specific location and needs.
